School Choice for the 2024-2025 School Year

Each year, the Nashoba Regional School Committee convenes to conduct a public hearing and decide on whether to enable students from neighboring districts to enroll in our schools through the school choice program. On Wednesday, April 24, 2024 the Committee voted to approve the Superintendent's recommendation to close school choice enrollment for specific grades, while maintaining limited availability for others. This decision was reached after careful consideration of data presented during the school committee meeting on April 10, 2024. The school committee voted to approve the Superintendent’s recommendation to close school choice as follows:

  • Florence Sawyer School: Close grades Kindergarten, one, two, four and six

  • Mary Rowlandson Elementary: Close for all grades

  • Luther Burbank Middle School: Close grades six and seven

  • Center School: Close all grades

  • Hale Middle School: Close grade six



    The school committee voted to approve the Superintendent’s recommendation to open school choice and limit the number of students as follows:

  • Florence Sawyer School: 3rd(4 students), 5th(2 students), 7th(4 students), and 8th(4 students)

  • Luther Burbank Middle School: 8th(4 students)

  • Hale School: 7th(4 students), 8th(4 students)

  • NRHS: 9th (4students), 10th (4 students), 11th (4 students), 12th (4 students)

  • No more than eleven students district wide in 8th grade

We will open the application window for School Choice on Friday, May 10, 2024. It will remain open until Friday, May 31,2024 at 12:00 p.m. Applications received by that date will be considered for school choice. Applications received after the May 31, 2024 deadline will not be accepted for consideration. If a lottery is needed for any grade, the lottery will be held on June 5th at 10:00 am
